PWM performed civil engineering and surveying for new laboratory and office Building 4602 project for NASA/MSFC. Our scope performed included site layout, grading, drainage, parking, utilities and LEED Silver certification. PWM coordinated with Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, Inc. in developing the design of the project and coordinated with their architectural and landscape planning staff. Complex elements of the project included the design of all site utilities, water distribution (domestic and fire protection), sanitary sewer, duct banks for underground electric and communications, hydronic piping for steam and chilled water from central plant supply points. This project required the design of the pads and piping for supply of gases for laboratory testing in 4602.
